President's Corner
Welcome to your new Association website. 2011 has been a very productive year for the Association. We have been fortunate to have intelligent and dedicated Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and Executive Officer. My sincere thanks to all of you!
Our Association has accomplished several major changes this year. One has been that we have applied for and obtained our new Tax ID number for the Solano Association of REALTORS® Foundation with Trustees from the Make a Difference and Scholarship Committees and representatives of the membership. This was a big step for the Association.
Recently the Board of Directors researched the costs for potential Capital Improvements including a possible renovation of our vacant space or the need to continue to search for a new lease tenant. As part of this information gathering, we asked Don Flynn, Chief Financial Officer with CAR to evaluate our financials for the past 5 years. We will present his findings at the Annual General Membership Breakfast meeting in December.
Be sure to take the time to look at the new website, especially our new logo. We heard our member’s concerns and now have a special member only directory to locate other REALTORS® which is accessed by a member log-in to maintain your privacy. You will find the list of affiliates as well. We appreciate our member’s input. Our website will be updated often, so make it your Home Page.
This year the membership committee hosted our first Affiliates Breakfast, which was a huge success. Our Affiliates are the backbone of the Association as they have done a great job sharing their knowledge and time. Remember to recognize them and use their services as often as you can.
We continue to work with, and give back to our local community in several ways. The clean-up of Springs Road has been well received by several of the business owners. My thanks go out to all of the volunteers who take the time to go out with their plastic gloves and trash bags. Also, our REALTORS® really make a difference in their support of the Benicia and Vallejo Relay for Life fundraisers.
I am proud to be a member of this Association as the connection with the other members is personally and professionally rewarding.
