Seasons change and today finds us well into Spring! Have you noticed trees proudly sprouting their beautiful blossoms, the long anticipated extra hours of daylight, the sweet sound of birds chirping; and can't you just feel the renewed excitement of the real estate market? I think we can all agree that we welcome Spring with open arms.
Our Association has completed the first quarter and a busy one at that. I've been told repeatedly that the year will go by so fast I won't be able to comprehend it all. That is exactly what is happening. I certainly do appreciate everything that has taken place in the first quarter of 2015, and thank everyone who is making it happen every day!
The Executive Board and Board of Directors have been instrumental in leading our members. The Strategic Plan has been created and waiting for certification from NAR/C.A.R. The Solano County Disclosure has been updated by the committee, reviewed by legal and ready for distribution by April 1, 2015. A Young Professionals Network (YPN) Group has been established and will have their first kick off event during the second quarter. By years end the membership will vote on adding this "group" to our official list of Association Committees.
The SAOR Staff works tirelessly to keep the front office running smoothly.
Our Program Chair has continued to bring excellent weekly Marketing Meetings to the Membership with speakers, presentations, fun and a renewed excitement for our Broker Tour.
Special Events have brought fun throughout the Association. The Tech Fair was a huge success and the Bowling Tournament really ROCKED.
Governmental Affairs Committee is hard at work preparing for the REALTOR® Action Fund Recognition Reception, Legislative Day in Sacramento and the to-be-announced Meet and Greet of Public Officials later in the year. The HAF Committee has prepared the Grant for helping to support Rebuilding Together Solano County which will be presented at C.A.R. in April.
The Education Committee continues to offer classes that not only education but bring us some of the latest technology updates, designation classes and tools needed for our day to day real estate business.
The first New Member Orientation, presented by the Membership Committee was a success and we look forward to the Induction Ceremony.
One of our long standing committees, Common Interest Development committee is preparing for the CID Class later this quarter. The Property Management Committee remains strong with successful meetings and presentation of rental property updates and rules/regulations.
Our Professional Standards/Grievance Committee said a warm farewell to Linda Bianchi after 27 years of service to our Association. We all wish Linda well on her retirement.
The LCRC Committee continues to meet and prepare for an upcoming election year in 2016.
As we spring into action in the second quarter of 2015, let's join together as a strong membership. Take a trip up to Sacramento for Legislative Days, attend and support the functions and classes offered to you.
Should you have any questions, concerns, ideas, suggestions for your leadership please feel comfortable and just make that phone call.
